最終戦鈴鹿でドゥカティがダブルウィン達成!水野涼はランキング3位でシーズンを締めくくる
全日本ロードレース選手権シリーズ最終決戦の地は三重県鈴鹿サーキット。DUCATI team KAGAYAMA水野涼は、開幕戦鈴鹿を2位、第2戦もてぎでは2位、3位。スポーツランドSUGOで3位、2位。第5戦もてぎ2×4ではドゥカティにスイッチして初優勝を遂げる。これは全日本最高峰クラス参戦の外国車としても初の栄冠。第6戦オートポリスではレース1を3位、レース2は惜しくも転倒となるが、第7戦岡山では2位でフィニッシュと着実に力をつけ、獲得ポイントは153と積み重ね、シリーズランキング3位で最終戦に挑む。
DUCATI Team KAGAYAMA closed the season with sensational 2 consecutive victories in Suzuka
The final round of MFJ Superbike All Japan Championship was held at Suzuka where the opening round kicked off on March 2024, and DUCATI Team KAGAYAMA marked emotional 2nd position at this race. Since then, the team had been scoring the stable results, 2nd and 3rd in R2 Motegi, 3rd and 2nd in R3 Sugo, and celebrated the first ever victory with Ducati Panigale V4R in R5 in Motegi. Mizuno had lost only 1 podium when he crashed at race 2 in Autopolis after scoring 3rd at race 1, but otherwise he had shown himself always on the podium including another 3rd in Okayama. Mizuno wad fully motivated for the last round of the season and headed to Suzuka at 3rd spot in the championship with 153 points, determined to show the improvement of the bike and himself at the last round of the season.
レースウィークは木曜に2セッションの合同走行から始まり。金曜日の午後のスポーツ走行で自己ベストの2,04.856をマークした。
Due to having no pre-test, there was one extra day on Thursday, and Mizuno had marked 2’04.856 which was his fastest lap in his carrier on JSB category.
土曜日は午前中に計時予選、午後から決勝レース1(14ラップ)が行われた。40分間のセッション中盤に、自己ベストを更新する2,04.135を計測し、全体の2番手タイムで2番手グリッド、フロントローを獲得。レース2のグリッド位置を決めるセカンドベストタイムは、4ラップ目に記録した2,04.932が採用され、3番グリッドからのスタートとなった。同日午後に決勝レース1(14ラップ)が行われた。水野は2番手で1周目をクリアし、トップグループは4台の争い。14ラップのレース序盤、水野はヤマハの2台の争いの背後につけ、慎重にラップを重ねる。レースが動いた後半、水野は11周目のホームストレートで中須賀をパスし、岡本に迫るとストレートスピードの速さを生かしてバックストレートでトップに立つ。三つ巴のバトルは水野を前にラストラップまでもつれ込む。スプーンコーナーで中須賀が水野を刺すが、DUCATIバックパニガーレV4Rのポテンシャルを発揮、ストレートから130Rにかけ、圧倒的な速さで水野が前に出るとヤマハファクトリー2台を従えてトップでチェッカーを受け今シーズン2勝目を挙げた。
Mizuno had been keeping the good rhythm during the weekend, and he improved his lap time down to 2’04.135 in the 40min. qualifying session on Saturday morning which had brought him to the 2nd grid for Race 1 on Saturday afternoon, and 3rd grid for Race2 on Sunday afternoon by the second fastest lap time of each rider which was 2’4.932 for Mizuno. At Race 1 with 14 laps, after having the clear start by all the riders, Mizuno kept his position and completed the opening lap at 2nd position. Soon after the leading group came to consist by 4 riders and started the hard battle between them.
Mizuno was once behind 2 Yamahas, keeping patience for few laps to find the best moment to overtake them. At lap 11, he finally started to make his action and overtook Nakasuga at home straight and then overtook Okamoto at the back straight at the same lap to use the advantage of the top speed of Panigale V4R. The hard battle between these 3 riders continued till the final lap, but Mizuno finally won this fierce battle and brough 2nd victory of the season to the team.
レース2は16ラップでスタートした。岡本を先頭に中須賀、水野、野左根で4台でトップグループを形成。水野は5周目に中須賀を抜いて2番手に。トップの岡本を追い、次第に2台でのトップ争いとなるが、7ラップ目に起きたクラッシュにより残り5周でセーフティカーが導入される。レースは3周で再開、1コーナーをトップで入っていく水野の背後で中須賀が転倒、続くS字ですこし膨らんだところで野左根と岡本に前を譲るかたちになるが、水野は落ち着いてバックストレートからシケインで前に出てトップに立つ。ラストラップまでトップを守りきって最終コーナーを駆け抜け、鈴鹿最終戦を2連勝、今季3勝目を飾った。
At Race 2 on Sunday, the start was similar to Race 1, and the leading group was consisted by the same riders after a few laps. Mizuno who had struggled a bit at the early stage which had widen a gap by the leader Okamoto, but he pushed himself and closing the gap lap by lap and caught Okamoto on site. But the safety car introduced to the track due to the accident by the riders when 5 laps are remaining. The remaining laps were 3 when the safety car exited and the race restarted again. At turn 1 after the race restarted, Mizuno was first to enter the corner, and following Nakasuga crashed out just behind Mizuno. Mizuno tried to keep the position but when he ran over just a bit wide at S curve, followed rider Nozane and Okamoto immediately overtook him and let Mizuno pushed to the 3rd position. Although Mizuno stayed calm, used the advantage of his bike and overtook both of them again. The hard battle continued again same as Race 1 till the last seconds but Mizuno defended and won the 3rd victory of the season.

It was the first year for DUCATI Team KAGAYAMA to run Ducati Panigale V4R, but the team is proud of making the history with the first ever victory by non-European manufacture in JSB category, marked 3 victories and finished the season at 3rd in championship and also had a close battle for the podium at Suzuka 8HRS. DUCATI Team KAGAYAMA will continue our challenge and will keep introducing this attractive sport to the fans. 最終戦鈴鹿は、開幕戦と鈴鹿8耐久で走りこんだことで、高いレベルから木曜日の走行をスタートすることができました。水野も好タイム出してくれ、セットアップも進みドゥカティの100パーセントに近い能力を発揮させることができた。レース展開は、後ろを引き離すことができないようなら後ろで耐えて、最後に前に出ようという作戦通りのレースになり、最後はライダーが頑張ってくれた。
レース2は、レース1の経験を踏まえて、いいレースができました。実は昨日のレースもトラブルを抱えていて、今朝も対策をしたのですがこの時点で直せないと決断し、急遽2台目のバイクで挑みました。ライダーにとっては乗り込んでいない方のバイクなので違和感がある状態で挑ませたレースでした。好みではない方のバイクでレースをさせることになってしまい、メカニック、我々は申し訳ない気持ちで送り出したのですが、バイクが変わっても最初の数周でフィーリングをつかみ、レース後半にはちゃんと追い上げて優勝してくれた。まさに2レース目が、ライダー水野が成長が見られたレースでした。優勝できたこと、ダブルウィン出来たこと、ドゥカティを選んだことは間違いではなかった。今週は200点の4日間でした。
チャンピオン獲得はなりませんでしたが、2回目のサーキットは勝率100パーセント(もてぎ、鈴鹿)。3勝を成し遂げられ、ドゥカティ、ライダーのポテンシャルを示すことができました。スタッフ、メカニックは、リタイヤになりそうなトラブルを起こさず臨機応変に応えて支ええてくれ、そこに水野の能力か重なって本当にいいシーズンだったと思います。ヤマハのそれぞれ4勝に次ぐ3勝で終えることができ、勝率でいえば大きな差がなく終えられ、国内メーカーにも脅威となり、来年凄く楽しみなシーズンになると思います。

As because with the data we obtained at Suzuka 8 HRS, we were able to start the weekend at high level on Thursday when we had the first practice. Ryo also marked the very good lap time, and we were able to bring the best performance of the bike which made us easy to improve day by day. Our strategy for the races were to be patient and wait if Ryo is not able to give the distance with the following riders once he put himself on top of the group, and he raced as we planned and it’s worth to praise as the race never goes as it planned.
At Race 2, as we found some technical issue with the main bike at the warm up on Sunday morning, we needed to force Ryo to race with the spare bike as we could not find out exact problem, which was not really ideal for the rider. We knew that it was not so easy for him as he did not make so many laps with that spare bike during the weekend, but he adapted it very fast and showed us the strong same performance as Race 1. I really admire him to have shown us his improvement at Race 2 under this situation. We finally had 2 wins to close the season and I’m really happy that I was able to prove that my decision was correct to race with Ducati this year and we were able to show more than 100% performance at the final round of the season.
Although we were not able to win the championship, at the circuits where we obtained the data previously, we won 100% (at Motegi and Suzuka), we had 3 wins overall and proved the potential of the bike and the rider. Moreover without any experience with Ducati, all our mechanics worked well without having any major technical issues and brough its best performance at the races and I really appreciate with all their effort. Mizuno also adapted rapidly how to ride this bike, changing his riding style, and improved very much through the year. We were able to fight very close to the championship in the end, and I can say that we had a very meaningful season. I’m 100% sure that we will be stronger next year and I can’t wait to come back.

レースウィークのスタートから調子が良く予選は硬いタイヤと柔らかいタイヤを両方試し、どちらのタイヤでもいいタイムを持てたので自信をもって決勝に挑みました。レース1は、序盤に離されなければ有利な展開に持ち込めると確信していたので、無理に前に出ずに落ち着いてついていきました。選択したタイヤ的に、自分はコース後半のほうに強みのある選択だったので、最終のブレーキングや裏ストレートのパッシングも容易にできましたし、前に出るタイミングだったり、前に出てからの処理にもミスなく優勝することができました。レース2は序盤は思ったよりペースが上がらなくて、ついていくのがやっとでした。タイヤが温まってペースを作れてからは野左根選手、中須賀選手を抜くことができ、岡本選手についたところでSCでした。今週はレースがスタートする前から調子がよく、両レースとも自信をもって挑めていたので、SCが入っても落ち着いて残り3周を戦うことができました。チャンピオン獲得できなかったことは心残りですが、自信をもって挑んだウィークで2連勝できたことは自分を褒めたい。

I really enjoyed the weekend ss the weekend starts positive and I’d been having very comfortable feeling with the bike through the weekend. I tried two different spec of the tyres but as I was able to perform well with both tyres, I could have a strong confidence. At Race 1, as I was pretty sure that I have a good chance to win if I can follow with the top group at the beginning of the race because of the selection of the tyres, I didn’t push too hard at the early stage and tried to be patient. Also as I had strong advantage with the top speed of my bike, it was easy to overtake at the straights and also the bike performs better at the second half of the circuit, I did not get upset even I lost a few seconds at the first half of the circuit. It was just the matter to find the right timing to overtake. I’m quite happy that I did not make any critical mistakes at the race and all those elements had brought me to win the race. At Race 2, I struggled more that Race 1 at the beginning of the race, and I was not able to pick up the pace as I wished. I kept pushing hard after the tyres were warmed enough, and I was able to overtake Nakasuga and Nozane and catch the leader Okamoto but then the safety car was introduced to the track unexpectedly. Although because of all the confidence of this weekend, I could stay calm all the time and be able to manage the race well. I’m so proud with myself and with my team although I was not able to win the championship this season but was able to have 2 consecutive wins at the last race of the year.
It was the first year experience with Ducati for me and even for the team his year. We knew we have the best bike winning all over the world, but it wasn’t that easy with the different tyres and the new tracks without having any data and experiences. We struggled a lot not to be able to win easy and experienced and learned so many things though the year. Although we have to be happy that we didn’t miss any podiums except the one that I made mistake and crashed at Autopolis and I think we were able to appeal the potential of Ducati. Since I made the big decision to switch from Honda where I grew up to Ducati, I had a pressure with myself also, but I’m so happy with my decision both for the results and with my performance. I was able to battel closer than ever to Yamaha who wins the title for years, scored 3 wins, and I’m really happy with the decision that I made. I had lots more fans than ever who supported me at the circuit also and I felt the big influence with this Ducati project. I do appreciate a lot with all the supporters for supporting me and of course with all the people who had involved with the project. I will come back stronger for all those people next year. Thank you very much again for being with us and cheering us this year.
